It’s Friday afternoon, meaning a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been edited and ready to massage your ear holes. This week, we’re talking about the Stan Bowman hire, the Edmonton heat wave, and whatever random nonsense we could think of to fill the time.
The guys kicked off the podcast with a delicious debate about the Stan Bowman hiring and whatever everyone thought about what was easily the most controversial move in recent memory. Given his history in Chicago, it’s not surprising that the reaction from Oilers fans was filled with rage. Yet, despite the backlash, it was clear that the organization really doesn’t care about what their fanbase thinks, which left a sour taste in many fans’ mouths.
Moving the podcast to what happens on the ice, Baggedmilk asked the fellas how much pressure they think Bowman is under to get the Oilers to finally win it all. Given that he wasn’t the one who put this current team together, does he get a free pass on this first year as GM regardless of the results? Or should Oilers fans expect more from him than simply sitting back and watching what happens over the next 12 months?
Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio by answering your questions with another round of Ask the Idiots before diving into Hot and Cold Performers to recap everything that’s happened over the last seven days. Even though there wasn’t much to talk about, the boys still managed to yammer on for over an hour about everything from the Oilers to the NFL to how excited everyone is that the Olympics are finally up and running.
