The Edmonton Oilers followed up their thumping of the rival Calgary Flames with back-to-back losses against the Arizona Coyotes and the San Jose Sharks. Edmonton will be looking to get back on the winning track on Saturday night in a date with the Nashville Predators as small -105 home underdogs on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Edmonton still holds down third place in the Pacific Division standings despite their current two-game losing streak, but by just one point over the Coyotes. The Predators are in the Wild Card mix in the Western Conference and are riding a two-game winning streak into Saturday.
Predators at Oilers | OddsShark Matchup Report
After knocking off Calgary by an 8-3 score as +145 road underdogs on February 1 the Oilers were blanked 3-0 on the road at the Coyotes at -105 on the moneyline last Tuesday night. Edmonton then returned home for a game against the San Jose Sharks on Thursday, falling 6-3 in that contest as -165 favorites at sports betting sites in an OVER result on the totals.
Connor McDavid, Sam Gagner, and Ethan Bear had the goals for the Oilers in Thursday night’s loss, with Mikko Koskinen surrendering all six San Jose goals on 31 shots on the night. Leon Draisaitl and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins were each scoreless and -3 on the night.
Overall the Oilers are 7-5 in their last dozen games dating back to the start of January, according to the OddsShark NHL Database, with the OVER paying off six times in that span.
The Predators have asserted themselves in the playoff race in the Western Conference with victories in four of their last five games, including a 3-2 win at Calgary on Thursday night at -110 on the moneyline at the sportsbooks. That was Nashville’s third straight UNDER result.
Dante Fabbro, Kyle Turris, and Mikael Granlund had the goals for the Predators on Thursday night, with Roman Josi picking up a pair of assists and Juuse Saros making 37 saves.
The Oilers doubled up the Predators 4-2 as +105 home underdogs when the teams last met on January 14, but despite picking up the victory in two of their last three meetings the Oilers are just 2-8 in their last 10 games against the Preds. The OVER/UNDER is on a 2-7-1 run.
