<p>The injuries are starting to add up for the Edmonton Oilers and at this point in the season, I&#8217;m not even surprised. Is it time to start shutting some guys down for the season to rest up for a big playoff push next year? Let&#8217;s take a look.</p>
<h1>Oscar Klefbom</h1>
<p>Oscar Klefbom hasn&#8217;t been himself lately. After his breakout year last season, we all had very high expectations for him coming into this season and we&#8217;re definitely not getting the results we wanted. As <a href="https://publish.oilersnation.com/2018/02/14/wwydw-shut-down-klefbom/comment-page-1/#comments">Cooom discussed earlier this week</a>, Klefbom&#8217;s playing time has increased slightly but point production has decreased this year. He definitely doesn&#8217;t look as solid as he used to on the ice, and I want to know why!</p>
<p>He didn&#8217;t just have twins, he didn&#8217;t just get traded to a new team, but he DID get treated for a shoulder injury late in December. Could this be a lingering injury that has returned to haunt him? We all know the dressing room was suffering from the flu for pretty much the whole season&#8230; could he have got it and it&#8217;s just stayed with him this whole time?</p>

Does this mean we can take some blame off of Klefbom for his bad season this year? What do you think?</p>

<p>Sekera&#8217;s rough season continues as he was placed on the Injury Reserve for the second time this season. Or technically it&#8217;s the first time&#8230; as he began the season on the IR. This time it&#8217;s not his MCL, but his face. Last Friday during the game against the Ducks *cringes*, Sekera left the game after getting a puck deflected into his face.</p>
<p>There are no details on exactly what happened to him but it sounds like it&#8217;s not a very serious injury. He could be back fairly soon but at this point in the season there&#8217;s obviously no need to rush anyone back. I&#8217;ve seen a couple rumblings on Twitter about Sekera potentially having a concussion, but nothing from what I saw came from quality sources. I wouldn&#8217;t be surprised if the Oilers were covering up concussion news OR his sore MCL is acting up. But again, who really cares anymore?</p>

<p>Nuge&#8217;s initial timeline involved him returning to the lineup late in February or first week of March. Now it doesn&#8217;t appear he&#8217;s been skating at all yet, but that doesn&#8217;t mean that his timeline is delayed. Nuge isn&#8217;t a guy that management would just shut down from an injury late in the season. I&#8217;m sure he&#8217;s eager to get back to playing despite where the Oilers lie in the standings. When Nuge does return, I&#8217;m hoping he doesn&#8217;t miss a beat and continues his offensive point production regardless of how the rest of the team is playing.</p>
