Welcome back to another edition of Throwback Thursday!
Today in 2016, Connor McDavid recorded his first five-point night in the NHL.
The Oilers secured a 5-2 victory over the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs in which McDavid scored two goals and three assists. McDavid opened the scoring 3:29 into the game, then assisted on two Jordan Eberle goals in the second period.
McDavid potted his second goal of the game at the 13:55 mark of the third frame, and with the Leafs net empty, found Eberle to let the veteran get his first NHL hat trick.
The night can’t be overshadowed by the fact that it was the first time McDavid played in Toronto as an NHL player. Not a bad way to debut in your hometown.
