<p>Now that we&#8217;re into the Christmas break, it&#8217;s a perfect time to take a look back at the year that was. Over the next few days, we&#8217;ll be counting down the most-viewed stories at Oilersnation of 2023.</p>

<p>Moving onto number seven in the countdown, we have Evander Kane&#8217;s f&#8211;k around and find out comments from the 2023 playoffs against the Vegas Golden Knights.</p>
<blockquote><p>It was nothing short of a <a href="https://oilersnation.com/2023/05/06/gdb-8-0-wrap-up-oilers-tie-series-with-golden-knights-after-dominant-5-1-victory-in-game-2/">fiery game two</a> between the Edmonton Oilers and Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday.</p>
<p>It was a game that <a href="https://oilersnation.com/2023/05/06/edmonton-oilers-forward-leon-draisaitl-ties-105-year-old-playoff-scoring-record-held-by-fred-cyclone-taylor/">saw the Oilers jump out to a 4-0 lead after the first period</a>, adding another in the second, en route to a dominant 5-1 victory.</p>
<p>As the Oilers ran roughshod on the ice scoring at will, the Golden Knights wanted to try and find their own way into the game. It ended up with Oilers defenceman Brett Kulak fighting Golden Knights forward Brett Howden.</p>
<p>But as that fight happened at centre ice, a brouhaha kicked off in the corner of Vegas&#8217; end. A few Golden Knights latched onto Nick Bjugstad after the latter took a late shot, and it would up with Keegan Kolesar grabbing Evander Kane from behind as the two eventually fell to the ice.</p>
<p>It ended up with Kane laying multiple body shots on Kolesar as the linesmen were tangled up with the scrap at centre ice.</p>
<p>After the game, Oilers forward Evander Kane was asked about the scrap.</p>
<p>&#8220;You don&#8217;t see a lot of guys getting jumped from behind than head locked,&#8221; Kane said. &#8220;When you wanna fuck around, sometimes you have to find out.&#8221;</p></blockquote>

<p>Evander Kane established himself as a bit of a villain in this game, and in the series as a whole. There&#8217;s also the infamous photo of the Golden Knights fan flipping him off, but this battle Kane had with Kolesar really escalated things.</p>
<p>This whole bruhaha happened at the 17:42 mark of the second period, in a game the Oilers already had a 5-0 lead in. There was clearly some frustration in this one from the Vegas side, and it happened in the final minutes, again.</p>
<p>Nic Hague tried to fight Kane with just over five minutes left in the third, and with under a minute to go, Klim Kostin ended up dropping the mitts with Zach Whitecloud, enroute to a 5-1 Oilers win.</p>
