A beautiful goal from Edmonton Oilers defenceman Evan Bouchard has landed him the goal of the week title in the HockeyAllsvenskan league.
A clip of the goal showed Bouchard take the puck from the right point down behind the opposing teams net, before he circled all the way back to the point before firing a wrist-shot top corner.
It was a beautiful goal as Bouchard showed off some strong skating and ability to find space capping it off with a great shot.
This year, Bouchard has started his season playing for Södertälje SK in the HockeyAllsvenskan league. In 17 games, he has scored four goals and 13 points also notching 54 PIM. Bouchard is second in points among all defenceman behind Tingsryds AIF’s Rasmus Bengtsson.
It’s great to see Bouchard producing at a solid clip to start his season. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens with him in North America.
He’s definitely on the cusp of breaking into the NHL on the Oilers roster, but he could wind up back in Bakersfield for another year of development. I would think the former is more likely given Bouchard’s strong production of 36 points in 54 AHL games last year.
