Watch It Again: Darnell Nurse Stands Up For His Guys

When Juhjar Khaira went toe to toe with Cal Clutterbuck against the Islanders last week, we saw this team literally fighting for some semblance of respect and pride on the lost season.
On this night, the Oilers are taking on their provincial rivals in the Flames. The Flames with playoff hopes hanging by less than a thread, still have something to play for and have that emotion riding.
On a seemingly nothing play by Mike Cammalleri at the blue line, Flames big trade get, Travis Hamonic decided to hand Mike a few extra cheap shots for good measure. His mistake was not looking around to see who else was on the ice. In skated Darnell Nurse, that’s “Beat his ass, Darryl” to all of us Nation fans.
In this one Darnell gets the much better looking swings going but not much landed really. Darnell is by far the better fighter in his career but this fight he didn’t really get loose.
At the end of the day, not much of a fight but it’s great to see this team with not much other than playing spoiler left, standing up for each other in back to back situations.
