Every year, the Alberta government releases a list of all the baby boy names and baby girl names in the province for the previous year.
And us here at OilersNation did a deep dive into the list and we have to ask…
Which one of you named your son McDavid?
Yes, that’s right. Someone in Alberta literally named their kid McDavid.
It’s not even as if they went for McDavid’s first name, Connor. Nope. Just straight up McDavid. Honestly, you have to respect it.
But on that note, there were 81 Connor’s born in the province this year and 24 Leon’s. Six people named their son Kailer, and 30 named their son Oscar. Ethan’s were popular in Alberta this year with 213 boys donning the name. Three new Jujhar’s came into the world as did an equal number of Mikko’s.
Nine girls were given the name Leona, which could be a play on of Draisaitl’s first name.
Nonetheless, we thought it was important that we pointed out that there’s a little boy somewhere in Alberta donning the name McDavid (and I really want to know who it is).
