Notable performances in caps, Andrew Miller (the first Bakersfield player to be called up) was replaced by Iiro Pakarinen on the big team and he will play tonight against Los Angeles.

Ethan Bear is looking like a pretty good pick given where he was selected.

On the other side of the coin, it looks like Scrivens had a rough start in his first stint back in the AHL. Hope he can recover and reestablish himself as a potential NHLer before the trade deadline. I’m guessing that his confidence must be at a low. Wish him nothing but the best.

Lowtide, why do you think Eetu Laurikainen isn’t the starter in the ECHL? Especially with Scrivens in the AHL to back up Broissoit. Wouldn’t it be more beneficial to have him starting the majority of the games there even if it is against weaker competition, similar to Broissoit two years ago when he was dominant in the ECHL before progressing to the AHL.

          • Lowetide

He may have a deal with EDM for NHL/AHL, but a trigger when ECHL is the option. Laurikainen may be in Europe at some point (I think Jim Matheson wrote about this the other day)

Have we learned nothing about sample sizes? If Scrivens has a good game or 2 and Nilsson begins to struggle, we could see Ben make his way back. He wasn’t too bad in pre season.

I have no idea how Bouchard’s hung on to a CHL roster spot these past two seasons, let alone was drafted. Is he some big shot’s son, or related to Eugenie?
