This past week has been pretty interesting. The Oilers have played very well despite their injury struggles. Subtract a couple tough losses and it would actually be pretty impressive how they’ve faired while missing Larsson, Sekera, and Talbot. Follow me, I have good news!

Cam Talbot

As reported earlier this morning, Cam Dadbot has been activated off of the IR. Do you think it’s too late for Cam to come in and save the season? Only time will tell. He’s coming in at a perfect time in my opinion. The team is finally clicking together like they should be and maybe with their old failthful back between pipes it might take them to the next level.
I think props to Brossoit are definitely warranted. He was no Cam Talbot and struggled at the beginning, but it’s safe to say Brossoit found his zone and began to look comfortable in the Oilers crease in the past week. It’s not easy to be forced into a starting position like that, (I would know, with my beer league team you know) and Brossoit faired well.

Adam Larsson

Adam Larsdaddy is extremely close to returning! As per Jason Gregor, he will be a game time decision on Thursday. If Talbot AND Larsson return on the same day that would be a good day in hockey right there. I’ve missed Larsson on the blue line but I have to say I’m impressed with how Davidson and Auvitu played in their depth roles the past couple of weeks. We were left pretty thin on the back-end but with Larsson returning and Sekera not far behind, we could be left with a pretty decent depth chart.

Andrej Sekera

When asked about the Andrej Sekera injury Todd McLellan told the media that his rehab is going well and that he’s working hard to get back in the lineup asap. His timeline to return is officially early in the New Year. This means that if things go badly over the next couple of weeks it will be too little too late for Sekera to save our playoff dreams. BUT if things go well over the next two weeks BUCKLE UP SEKERA WE HAVE A PLAYOFF RUN TO WORK FOR!
