Oilersnation Pre Game Podcast – Edmonton Oilers @ Toronto Maple Leafs

Jan 6, 2020, 16:00 ESTUpdated: Jan 6, 2020, 15:38 EST
After picking up a surprising victory over the @Boston Bruins on Saturday, the Oilers will look to collect their third win in four games as they roll into the Scotiabank Arena for a matchup against the @Toronto Maple Leafs. Edmonton should be a confident group right now, they have picked up at least a point in three straight games, but they’ll be in tough tonight. The Leafs are 9-0-1 in their last ten games and are averaging close to five goals a game in that span. On top of that, the Oilers will be playing in a building that they haven’t won in since 2010.
This will certainly be a big test for the Oilers, who are currently holding onto a wildcard spot in the Western Conference. Dave Tippett is expected to keep his lineup the same tonight and that includes giving @Mike Smith the start. This will be the first time this season that the veteran keeper is getting a third consecutive start. After struggling through most of November and December, Smith has strung together two solid starts for the Oil.
I broke down that decision and more in the Oilersnation Pre Game Pod (pres. by YEG Burger)! Download it right here in the article or by heading to Apple, Spotify, or Google Play!
