Edmonton Oilers defensive prospect Evan Bouchard has been named to the American Hockey League all-star game.
The 2018 10th overall pick will be joining teammate Tyler Benson at the game, and Kailer Yamamoto who was named to the game, but won’t be attending.
Bouchard, 20, is leading all Condors defencemen with seven goals and 17 assists in 40 games this year. He’s 11th among all AHL defencemen in scoring, and leads all rookie rearguards in scoring with seven goals.
In his first full-season in the AHL, Bouchard has taken a strong step forward after an impressive showing in the Calder Cup Playoffs last year. There, he scored three goals and five assists in eight games.
