The cowboy is back!
The Edmonton Oilers have activated Kris Russell from the LTIR and the defenceman is set to slide into tonight’s lineup.
In a coinciding move, the Oilers also place @Joakim Nygard, who is recovering from a broken hand, on the LTIR.
Russell had been recovering from a concussion sustained in late January. The club had placed him on the injured reserve on Jan. 30, and on LTIR earlier this week.
According to OilersNation’s Jason Gregor, Russell will play tonight alongside @Matt Benning, who had been out of the lineup since the acquisition of @Mike Green. With Green out with a sprained MCL, Benning slots back into his old spot.
He’s appeared in 49 games for the Oilers posting eight assists.
