Another Thursday is upon us and that means a brand new episode of the Real Life Podcast is here and ready to get you set for the weekend. On today’s show, the guys were pumped to welcome former Edmonton Oiler enforcer, Luke Gazdic, to the podcast to learn about his journey in hockey and what comes next after recently announcing his retirement.
Kicking things off, the guys got started with a look at the last few days in the NHL that were jampacked with all different kinds of storylines. From the Maple Leafs getting knocked out by Montreal after dropping three straight to Mark Scheifele’s hit in game one of their series, the guys offered their thoughts on all things NHL. Next up, the guys were thrilled to welcome former Oiler, Luke Gazdic, to talk about his career, recent retirement, and learn a little bit about his journey to professional hockey. From start to finish, this interview was fantastic to listen to as Luke ran through his come-up, what it was like to play in front of a full barn at Rexall Place, how much it meant for him that the fanbase had his back, and what it was like to hang out with Joey Moss. Finally, the guys wrapped up the Thursday episode of Real Life by taking a few guesses as to which NHLers we think are the ones Gazdic mentioned in his equipment story, which was still blowing everyone’s minds long after he got off the Zoom call.
