They grow up so fast.
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored his 500th NHL point Friday night against the Seattle Kraken in what was his 678th NHL game. Entering the game two points away, he notched assists on goals scored by Leon Draisaitl and Evan Bouchard helping him hit the mark.
Drafted by the Oilers first overall in the 2011 draft, Nugent-Hopkins is the longest-tenured Oiler and won’t be going anywhere soon.
By hitting the 500 point mark he becomes the 10th Oilers player to score as many points with the team. Before him stand Leon Draisaitl, Doug Weight, Connor McDavid, Ryan Smyth, Paul Coffey, Glenn Anderson, Mark Messier, Jari Kurri and none other than Wayne Gretzky.
In his career, Nugent-Hopkins has scored 187 goals, 311 assists and 24 game-winning goals.
