Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off this week’s segment, we got started with a look at the Ryan McLeod contract negotiations as the young forward filed for arbitration as both sides work towards a new deal. That led me and Grant to talk about what it must be like to sit in a room with your boss and listen to all of the reasons why they don’t think they should give you a raise. While the arbitration process may be more common in baseball, it’s not quite there yet in hockey and it will be endlessly fascinating to see how the McLeod contract situation plays out. We then looked at Evander Kane playing beer league in the city, and how it must be wild if you hit the ice with your buddies only to see #91 lining up as your competition. Lastly, we wrapped up this week’s segment with a look at the Oilersnation Open which is scheduled for Sept. 1st at the Millwoods Golf Club in an effort to have a great day while also raising some money for charity while we’re at it.
