Edmonton Oilers trade Joel Persson to Anaheim Ducks

The Edmonton Oilers have traded defenceman Joel Persson to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2022 and goaltender Angus Redmond.
Persson’s trade was first reported by TSN’s Tom Gazzola.
The Oilers signed Persson, 25, this off-season to a one year contract. He appeared in 13 games for the Oilers scoring two assists before being assigned to the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors.
There, Persson has appeared in 27 games scoring three goals and 13 assists.
Redmond 24, has spent his season playing for the ECHL’s Newfoundland Growlers where he’s posted a 13-0-0 record and a .918 save percentage. He was signed to an entry-level contract by the Ducks on in March 2017.
According to OilersNation’s Jason Gregor, Redmond will remain in Newfoundland.
The condition on the pick requires Persson to play in 25 NHL games next season.
