Evander Kane stopped by the Oilersnation studios this week and sat down with the Real Life Podcast crew for an exclusive interview. The Oilers forward talked about being in Edmonton as we get close to the one-year anniversary of his signing. Of course, the move was met with some resistance at the time and Kane talked about how his relationship with the fan base has changed over the last 12 months.

He also spoke about the charity work he’s been doing over the last season, where his motivation comes from doing that, and why Edmonton is starting to feel like home for the NHL veteran of over 1000 games.
Evander also launched his own personal clothing line recently, called DEFY, and he talked about the process that went into that, why he wanted to take this leap, and his passion for fashion. This led to some questions about his pre-game outfits, how his teammates dress, and what his plans are for the future.
Kane has been out of the lineup since early November due to a gruesome wrist injury that he suffered in Tampa Bay. He gave us the latest on his health and how he’s been dealing with being out of the lineup.
The team misses him on the ice and when he returns, the Oilers will be heading down the stretch of the 2022-23 season. He spoke about how motivated the group is to get back to where they were last season and how the atmosphere in Edmonton and the energy Oilers fans bring in the playoffs is not only a driving force for them right now, but was also a big reason why he wanted to re-sign with the club.
They wrapped up the interview by playing a little Edmonton-themed rapid fire with Kane where he revealed his favourite parts of the city, talked about his teammates, and gave a surprising answer for his favourite restaurant in the city.
