Inside the Nation: Zykov, Koskinen, and line combinations that can score

Welcome, friends, to another Monday edition of Inside the Nation with Dustin Nielson. This week, Dusty looked at the Oilers’ winning streak and whether or not they can keep it going against Dallas, where Zykov will fit into the lineup, a scouting report on him, line combinations, and much more.
As he does to start every week, Dusty Nielson went live on our Facebook page to answer all of the questions you could ever have about the Edmonton Oilers. Since Dusty last checked in with us, the Oilers extended their winning streak to three games, claimed Valentin Zykov off waivers, and have seemingly gotten themselves back on track since bringing Ken Hitchcock into the mix. To start, Dusty took a minute to call out the boys at Nation HQ for being terrified of a tiny spider and making Evan the Intern kill it for them. Needless to say, it was a sad display.
From there, he got to things that actually mattered like why Ryan Nugent-Hopkins isn’t playing more five-on-five minutes and how Ken Hitchcock can develop a third line that can actually score. Do the Oilers have the personnel needed to play the Identity line less? How does the newly claimed Valentin Zykov fit into the mix? Does he get a chance to play in the top nine? Nielson gets into Zykov’s immigration delays, where he fits on the roster, and offers a scouting report on him that you won’t hear anywhere else.
