Oilers Prospect Update: Fifteen straight wins for the Condors

5 years agoThe water in Bakersfield is just fine from the looks of things. The young Oilers took their 15th straight win last night with a 2-1 OTW over the Ontario Reign. The number now sits at three more wins to break the record for the longest winning streak in AHL history. This week they will play the Coyotes affiliate Tucson Roadrunners on Saturday, then the Roadrunners again before hopefully eclipsing the mark set by the Norfolk Admirals against the Minnesota Wild affiliate Iowa Wild.
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the pipeline, a couple of 2018 draft picks in Ryan McLeod and Evan Bouchard have been awoken this week. The news from around the team, and things that affected the prospects was flowing:
Sekera’s time in the AHL done – Sekera has been in the AHL for a conditioning stint that ended today.
Spooner out, Gagner in – The Oilers carried out a trade that saw Ryan Spooner head to Vancouver from Bakersfield and acquires Sam Gagner who had been in the AHL with Toronto
Gagner called up – Gagner was almost immediately called up from the Toronto Marlies but his numbers with Toronto are listed below
Puljujarvi’s agent speaks – JP’s agent has spoken up and after being healthy scratched last night, the rumors are that he will be in the AHL at some point soon.
Sekera conditioning stint extended – As we see from the earlier new point, the Oilers had to request the NHL allow Sekera to have an extra time in the AHL
