The Edmonton Oilers quest for their sixth Stanley Cup, and first in the Connor McDavid era, starts on Saturday night in Sunrise, Florida. It’s the first time since 2006 the Oilers have made the final two and, this time around, they’re hoping there luck is better. They’ll go up against the Florida Panthers, who are in the final for the second consecutive year. Last year, the Panthers lost to the Vegas Golden Knights in five games.
The Oilers were on the ice this morning in Edmonton ahead of their trip south. Evander Kane was absent from practice, which has been a recurring theme throughout the post season, so Warren Foegele skated in his place. Also, the bottom six was shaken up with Ryan McLeod and Corey Perry centring Derek Ryan/Sam Carrick, and then Mattias Janmark and Connor Brown on Adam Henrique’s wings. The defensive pairings remained the same and Stuart Skinner was in the starters crease.
Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin go live for Oilersnation Everyday at noon to discuss the new lines. You can watch the show on the Oilersnation YouTube channel, Oilersnation Twitter, or Oilersnation Facebook. Want your opinions on the show? Leave your questions, comments and concerns in the Charm Diamond Centres YouTube live chat throughout the program. Tyler and Liam strongly encourage you to interact with them.
