The conversations around the hockey world right now revolve around the start of the 2024-25 NHL season. Once the puck is dropped and play is underway, the talk will change to who could represent Team Canada at the Four Nations Faceoff in February.

The inaugural event is being held in Montreal and Boston with Canada, Finland, Sweden, and the United States making up the four nations who will be participating. The tournament is the closest hockey has got to the best-on-best competition since the 2014 Sochi Olympics. Of course, it’s not a true “best-on-best” event because stars like Leon Draisaitl, David Pasternak, and Artemi Panarin won’t be there. However, with the news that NHL players can attend the 2026 Olympics in Milan, this event is going to quench the thirst of international hockey fans until then.

Myself, Tyler Yaremchuk, Cam Lewis, and Baggedmilk put together our projected Four Nations Faceoff roster for Team Canada. The one constant in all our rosters was the six players who have already been named to represent Canada: Connor McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar, Sidney Crosby, Brayden Point, and Brad Marchand. Other than those six, the four rosters we put together vary in many ways.
