Hello Nation Citizens! How’s everyone doing today after that horrible third period against the Ottawa Senators? The good news is that we can only go up from here … at least I sure hope so! The one positive that came out of that game is depth scoring. However, if I’m being honest, after a performance like that, I don’t feel like talking about what almost helped the Oilers snap their losing streak to the 30th placed team in the league.
Instead, here are some tweets and moments from the game that everyone was talking about just in case you missed them. Enjoy!

1) Paul Bi$$onnette

A few years ago I had the pleasure of working alongside Paul Bissonnette and other current NHLers. I’m not exaggerating when I tell you that I didn’t stop laughing the entire time. However, I have a feeling after the Oilers faced a 6-4 loss to the Senators, Bissonnette wasn’t laughing about too much. Here’s why!
After the game last night, I was scrolling through Twitter and saw that an old co-worker was in distress because of the Oilers based on these tweets:
After doing some research, it seems as though Bissonnette took the Oilers as the heavy favourites against the Sens. I have a feeling that BizNasty wasn’t the only one who sold their soul in this game. I can only hope he’s laughing about it now and makes a full recovery!
Are we at a point with the Edmonton Oilers where we have some serious trust issues? Unfortunately, I’d say so.

2) “Oiler-ing”

This is my first season as an Oilers fan. On January 15, 2022, I fully understood what this meant after dropping a 3-1 lead to Sens on home ice during a five game losing streak.

3) Helmet guy

Once I accepted that we were most likely watching the demise of the Oilers, this became my favourite moment in the game. I have seen a lot as a Toronto fan (Ex. David Ayers) and this really reminded me of something that would happen to my former Maple Leafs.
Listen guys, I know the feeling. That’s why as soon as this happened, I couldn’t believe it. I would be lying if I said I didn’t start laughing because I truly believe moments like these only happen to Edmonton and Toronto.
What did you think about Josh Norris and his lucky helmet? Did you laugh it off? Or was the last straw? Talk to me in the comments!

4) Heartache

That moment when the game is over and you realize what just happened:
Rightfully so, Oilersnation was anything but thrilled with that performance and the state of this team:

5) Coaching

No surprise here to see Tippett trending after the loss as a “coaching change” has been one of the hottest topics surrounding the Oilers for weeks now.
After the game, Oilers fans and hockey fans across the league weighed in on the coaching situation in Edmonton.
As for what’s coming up next for the Edmonton Oilers? Send prayers.
What are your thoughts on what the Oilers need to do at this moment in time? Have you given up hope? Send off in the comments and please try and enjoy the rest of your weekend!
