Oilersnation Pre Game Podcast – Edmonton Oilers @ Anaheim Ducks

After capping off their homestand with 4-0 shutout victory over the @New Jersey Devils on Friday night, the Oilers hit the road for a quick two-game trip down to California. Tonight their opponent will be the @Anaheim Ducks, a team that started the year by going 6-2-1 in their first nine games but has since fallen back to earth and now sit sixth in the Pacific Division.

Divisional games are going to be huge for the Oilers if they want to stay atop the Pacific and even though the Ducks have been slipping as of late, this is going to be a tough test for the Oilers. The rest of the month will actually be very crucial for this team as seven of the Oiler’s next ten games come against divisional opponents.

Goaltending has been tremendous for the Oilers as of late and is a massive reason for their continued success early in the season but their depth scoring has also stepped up. @Connor McDavid has factored into just two of the teams’ last ten even-strength goals. Their last ten ES goals have been scored by seven different players.
