As we do every Friday, we’re wrapping up the week with a fresh podcast to discuss all things Edmonton Oilers and get you set for the PLAYOFFS which are set to kick off tomorrow. This week, we welcomed Brock Seguin from DailyFaceoff.com to help us break down the play-in rounds and offer some advice for fantasy hockey players around the country.
To start off this week’s podcast, we jumped in with a look at Wednesday’s Battle of Alberta and what everyone was feeling as they watched hockey’s return. Seeing as we’d never watched fanless games outside of Florida before, I wanted to know what everyone thought about the presentation, lack of crowd noise after goals, and everything else that made that game strange to watch. Regardless of the game being different from what we’re used to seeing, it was clear how excited the boys were for the return of hockey and that sentiment was cranked up 10x when the conversation turned to Game 1 of the play-in series between the Oilers and Blackhawks. Looking ahead at the playoffs, we welcomed Brock Seguin from Daily Faceoff to give us a full rundown on the postseason, including an in-depth look at the Oilers and Blackhawks as well as a full rundown of the most interesting play-in series in both the Western and Eastern Conferences. As a Red Wings fan, Brock obviously had a tough year in terms of watching hockey so we also asked him which team he would most hate to win the draft lottery after being punted from the first round. All-in-all, it was a very upbeat podcast as everyone was clearly excited about the return of hockey which is happening in less than 24 hours from now.
