Real Life Podcast Episode 90: Old Man Coffee

Welcome, friends, to a brand new episode of the Real Life Podcast! It’s the podcast that starts with an agenda and quickly falls off the rails as soon as the recording starts. This week, the boys set an agenda and stuck to it! Just kidding, they went completely rogue again. 

With the Oilers’ NHL pre-season kicking off tonight, the boys had a hard time containing their excitement as they started off the podcast with a detailed rundown of all the latest news, line combinations, and rumours… at least, that was the intention. What actually happened was a 15 minutes conversation about their love of spiking coffee with creamy, delicious liqueurs and territorial business beefs in Moose Jaw. Speaking of business, how does the McBusiness work? Connor McDavid sat down with Bloomberg late last week to talk about the business of hockey and the guys took a few guys as to what that looks like for the league’s brightest star. From there, the guys started talking about Steve Yzerman stepping down as Tampa Bay’s GM which quickly turned into a discussion about Detroit real estate.

With all of that out of the way, the boys finally focused on the Oilers as Wanye talked about all his run-ins of late with both players and management. Who did he see? We thought you’d never ask! How about the management team, Zack Kassian, AND Darnell Nurse all in a matter of days? Is Wanye carefully stalking the players as they go about their lives? We can’t rule that out just yet. Finally, the guys end things off with some talk about Darnell Nurse’s new contract that was signed today as well as the potentially fake news about Scottie Upshall’s knee injury. Needless to say, it was another randomly wonderful episode of the Real Life Podcast with a little bit for everybody.
