The Western Conference Finals are finally here! The Oilers are just four games away from moving on to the Stanley Cup Finals but they will have to pass their toughest test of these playoffs. The Colorado Avalanche are an absolute wagon and there’s a reason why they’ve been right at the top of the Stanley Cup odds boards all season.
The Oilers will have their hands full but if you think they can win this series, you’ll get pretty good odds on it. Our friends at Pointsbet Canada have the Oilers at +210 which means if you wagered $100 on it, you would profit $210.

If you wanted to get greedy, you can get the Oilers at +300 to win the series in six games or less.
If you think this is going to be a long series, you can bet on the series to end in exactly six games or exactly seven games. Each one pays out +200 individually.
The Oilers played the Avalanche really well during the regular season. Yes, they only beat them once in their three meetings, but that one victory was a fairly convincing win towards the end of the season and the two losses were both in either overtime or the shootout.
It’s also worth noting that the under hit in two of the three games in their season series.
The big change in the Oiler’s season was when Jay Woodcroft took over as Head Coach and it’s interesting to see how the Oilers compare to the Avalanche from that point on. The Oilers had a points percentage of .724 while Colorado’s points percentage was .662. They were both top ten in the league, but the Oilers were actually better than the Avs.
They also averaged .44 more goals scored per game and their goals against per game were the exact same. These two teams have been very close over the last few months and that’s why I think this series will be very close.
Looking at some potential player props, there are a few that jump off the page to me.
I love taking Evander Kane to go over 2.5 goals in this series. The over paying -143 and I think that is just tremendous value. The Oilers forward has scored a hat trick in each of the last two series and has a tendency to score goals in bunches. Honestly, having the line for the playoff’s leading goal scorer set at 2.5 just doesn’t seem right. I think this is a great spot.
I also really like Leon Draisaitl to go over 4.5 assists in the series at -118. He had eleven in the last three games against the Calgary Flames. That is absolutely insane. He now has a total of 19 assists in 12 games during this playoff run. Him getting five assists in this series seems very realistic.
Connor McDavid’s over/under for points in this series is set at 9.5 and his goal total is set at 3.5. Both seem like solid spots, but I don’t love them as much as the other two.
As far as game-to-game betting goes, I think the over will always be a decent spot in this series. Leon Draisaitl over 1.5 points has been paying out very consistently and the payout is always very, very good. I also got him at +345 to get a point in every game of this series. That will be a fun one.
If you want a bet that I like in the Eastern Conference Final, I am all over Nikita Kucherov over 2.5 goals at -118. I think he could be in for an offensive explosion in this series against the Rangers and he could very easily hit this number in one game. He’s that good!
Whatever you do, always bet responsibly! Enjoy the Western Conference Final and good luck with your betting!
