Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off this week’s appearance, we jumped in with a look at Connor McDavid calling out the refs after a dangerous play in the preseason this past week, and I was happy to hear him say something out loud for the first time in forever. From my perspective, McDavid is the league’s most prized possession and it doesn’t make any sense that the refs wouldn’t want to protect him and other stars a little bit more. Now, will his comments actually change anything? I doubt it, but at least it’s a start. From there, we jumped into some line combos for the upcoming season, specifically focusing on who might be able to work their wait into a fourth-line job. Put another way, we’re all aboard the Perlini preseason hype train and I can’t see a scenario where he’s not in the mix to land a gig based on how he’s played so far.
