Happy Wednesday, everybody, and welcome to another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in local radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the CN Tower, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins’ future with the Oilers, and offered my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off this week’s segment, we jumped in with a chat about the CN Tower changing its colours to represent the Montreal Canadiens as “Canada’s hope” for the Stanley Cup. I thought it was hilarious that they’d think it was a good idea and that Leafs fans wouldn’t get annoyed about the gesture. Personally, I’m not one of those people that cheers for any Canadian team just because they’re from the same country as me, but I do know there will be people that go that route. From there, we looked at Ryan Nugent-Hopkins’ future with the Oilers and whether or not they’re in a position to let him walk away for free considering that they already struggle to score goals. Personally, I think it’s a little bit crazy to suggest this team is good enough to let him go but I also understand that I’m biased on the topic.
