Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off this week’s segment, we jumped in with a look at last night’s win over the Red Wings and how it was anything but a perfect night for the Oilers despite cashing in the two points. Even though the boys started off like a house on fire — the Oilers tagged Detroit with four goals in the first period — things got a whole lot sloppier as the game progressed, which nearly allowed the visitors to steal the win. Yet, despite the close call, the Oilers were able to win a game they desperately needed to maintain their playoff spot in the Pacific Division. Looking at the playoffs, we then checked in on what is an incredibly tight race in the Western Conference and how the Oilers are starting to pick up some wins at the most important times. That said, we also suggested that if they play as loose against Buffalo as they did against the Red Wings that we could be in for a rude awakening. Lastly, we wrapped up this week’s segment with a quick look at the trade deadline and how I personally believe that we’re in for a quiet day here in Edmonton.
