Baggedmilk on #theLOCKERROOM: Salary cap issues, rumours, and the NHL playoffs

The offseason rolls on for the Edmonton Oilers and another Wednesday meant another chance for your boy to jump on the radio with the guys from The Locker Room to discuss all things Edmonton Oilers. This week, we looked at jamming with rock stars, bonuses overages, rumours, and the NHL playoffs.
Kicking off this week’s appearance, I jumped in on the Lockerroom Question of the Day about which band I would love to jam with if I could ever have the chance. For me, I think the Foo Fighters would be an incredible choice provided that Dave Grohl would be willing to sit there and tell me stories from his life immediately afterwards. Back to hockey, we looked at the Oilers’ salary cap situation and how the bonus overages from a handful of players (shown above) will be carried over until next year. At just under $1 million, these overages are a kick to the pills for a team that is pressed right up against the cap, though, the Oilers are certainly not alone in this regard. We finished up the Oilers talk by looking at some of the rumours that are going around the Oilogosphere this week, specifically the idea of moving Adam Larsson or another such defenceman. Lastly, we discussed the NHL playoffs and whether or not there are any teams left that I would feel comfortable watching win the Stanley Cup in our barn. Quick answer: no.
