Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off this week’s segment, we jumped in with a look at tonight’s game against the Washington Capitals and what the Oilers have to do to make sure they get back in the win column after a disappointing showing in Ottawa on Monday night. Needless to say, the Oilers will need to be smarter with the puck if they’re going to beat Washington, and that starts with sealing up the holes that were apparently in all of their sticks. From there we looked at the upcoming schedule and how the Oilers basically play every other day, which can be both a good or bad thing depending on how the team is rolling at the time. For our boys, it will be incredibly important to get in a rhythm before the schedule tightens up because they’ve got some ground to make up and not a whole lot of time to get it all done. Lastly, we took a quick look at what’s going on with Mike Smith after the veteran netminder tore a tendon in his thumb a few weeks back, but according to the latest update from Dave Tippett, when he’ll be available to come back is anyone’s guess.
