It’s Wednesday Friday afternoon, I’m back from the #NationVacation to Vegas, and Leon Draisaitl got hurt again, which meant there was plenty to discuss in this week’s episode of Better Lait Than Never.
I started this week’s episode of BLTN with a quick recap of the #NationVacation to Vegas that happened this past week and how it was so much fun to hang out with everyone again. What’s most amazing about these trips is how many times we get to see the same faces and how when there are new folks, the newbies are immediately welcomed in with open arms by the group. It’s one of those magical Nation Citizen-isms you can only experience on these trips, and it’s always a blessing to watch firsthand.
Turning the podcast to the Oilers, I had to start with the injury to Leon Draisaitl after the future MVP left Thursday’s game in the second period with some kind of core(???) looking injury. While we didn’t get many updates on what happened with Leon, Kris Knoblauch stated that the superstar will be back before the playoffs and that the injury doesn’t appear related to what previously kept him out of the lineup. The good news, though, is that it looks like Trent Frederic might be in the lineup for the first time as an Oiler as early as Saturday against the Kings.
Finally, I wrapped up this week’s episode of BLTN with a Righteous Sack Beating about two-day hangovers before wrapping up the podcast with another round of voicemails. While the voicemail was quieter this week, the messages that did get left were very funny and all over the map. As always, finishing up the show with your opinions is my favourite part of the whole thing and something I always look forward to.
