It’s been another boring week around here with the Oilers and NHL at large still right in the middle of the off-season dead zone, but I’ve still got a fresh episode of Better Lait Than Never ready what little has happened anyway. On today’s podcast, I discussed the Oilers inching closer to the pre-season, Stan Bowman’s pre-season comments, goalie gear, and more. Needless to say, it’s been a busy week around here.

I kicked off this week’s episode with a look at the Oilers’ training camp, and how it’s going to be interesting to see how things play out with a condensed tune up schedule. This morning, the organization posted their 56-man training camp roster, which is certainly lighter than what we’ve seen in the past. But with only four exhibition games to play before the curtain drops on the 2026-27 NHL season, teams around the league will need to speed bag their usual pre-season protocol. Regardless, I could not be more excited.

Finally, I wrapped up this week’s episode of BLTN with a quieter round of voicemails that were all over the map, and complete with an array of different topics.
