Connor McDavid continues to do incredible things.

He’s been off to an incredible start scoring 11 goals and 22 points in the Oilers’ first 10 games of the year.

Thursday, in game 11 against the New Jersey Devils, Connor scored his 12th in the first period becoming the second Oilers to score as many in as few games.

It had only happened once before in the history of the Oilers: when Wayne Gretzky did it in 1983-84. The Great One went on to score 87 goals and 205 points that season.

Now, it’s a longshot for McDavid to hit either of those totals this year, or any in his career, but he could still have a huge season.

It would be a surprise in the least to see McDavid hit the 50-goal mark for the first time in his career, but could he hit 100 assists, too? It would be a longshot, but entirely possible. Heading into Thursday’s game he was already on pace for a staggering 180 points this year.

At the end of the day, this could be a historic season for 97 and I can’t wait to catch every second of it.
