The Edmonton Oilers have announced their rookie camp roster that will arrive at the facilities on Friday.

The plan is for players to report for medicals and their first on-ice practice at the Downtown Community Arena, the organization said in a statement Thursday. The big names include forwards Isaac Howard, Josh Samanski, and Quinn Hutson.

There is one rookie game to look at: Monday, Sept. 14 at the Calgary Flames.

Camp is set to be led by the Bakersfield Condors coaching staff, with players hitting the ice Friday afternoon for their first of three practices.

Among the Oilers draft picks who will be at camp are Rudolfs Berzkalns, Connor Clattenburg, Caden Harvey, Howard, David Lewandowski, William Nicholl, Beau Akey, Andrew Robinson, Ryan Cameron, Nathaniel Day, Samuel Jonsson and Eemil Vinni. Six players who signed out of college or Europe will be at rookie camp, including Hutson, Viljami Marjala, Owen Michaels, Samanski, Damien Carfagna and Tomas Cibulka.

The Oilers invited five players — three forwards and two defencemen — to training camp. The forwards include 18-year-old Kitchner Rangers centre Weston Cameron, 18-year-old Edmonton Oil Kings winger Olli Wahlroos, and 25-year-old winger Simon Tassy, who signed with the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors. On the blue line, 18-year-old Lethbridge Hurricanes defenceman Kyle Heger, and 24-year-old defenceman Zach Bookman, the latter of whom spent last season with the NCAA’s Western Michigan University, and signed with the Condors.
