The Edmonton Oilers have activated Zack Kassian off the long-term injured reserve.
The forward has been out of the lineup since he broke his hand in a Feb. 8 fight with Ottawa Senators defenceman Erik Gudbranson. In the 17 games since, the Oilers have been on a 11-6-0 run.
Kassian is expected to draw back into the lineup for tonight’s game against the Calgary Flames, however, it’s not what line he will be on.
In a subsequent move, the Oilers assigned Patrick Russell and James Neal to the Taxi Squad, while Evan Bouchard was recalled from there.
In 13 games this year, Kassian has scored one goal and two assists.
Bouchard, meanwhile, draws in for what will be his 13th game this year. He’s scored one goal and four points.
