The Edmonton Oilers released their pre-season schedule for 2019-20 and it got me all kinds of excited that we’re actually inching closer to the start of a new year. New schedule for a new era — I like it.
Kicking off their 2019-20 campaign with a mid-September matchup against the Winnipeg Jets, the Oilers will play seven pre-season games in total with four of those matches happening at Rogers Place and three against in other Western Canadian cities. The Oilers will play two games against the Jets, two against Vancouver, two against Calgary, and one against Arizona as they pare down the roster and get set to avenge a second-straight playoffs-less season. Honestly, I never thought I’d be so excited about seeing a pre-season schedule come but here we are — I couldn’t help but feel excited about moving forward in the Old Dutch era.
Check out the schedule below:
DATE | OPPONENT | VENUE | TIME |
Monday, Sept. 16 | Winnipeg Jets | Rogers Place | 7 PM |
Tuesday, Sept. 17 | @ Vancouver Canucks | Rogers Arena | 8 PM |
Thursday, Sept. 19 | Vancouver Canucks | Rogers Place | 7 PM |
Friday, Sept. 20 | Calgary Flames | Rogers Place | 7 PM |

According to the Oilers’ site, ticket details for the pre-season games at Rogers Place will be released at some point in July, likely when the regular season details come out. Is it October yet?
