@Edmonton Oilers F @Tyler Benson has been assigned to the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors.
Benson, 21, was recalled by the club on Jan. 30 and appeared in two games for the Oilers.
He appeared in games against the @San Jose Sharks and @Nashville Predators scoring no points, but registering one shot on goal.
In the incredibly small sample size of 14:43 TOI, Benson was sheltered taking 10 of 12 faceoffs in the offensive or neutral zone. He clipped a raw CF-CA of 14-10, giving him a CF% of 58.33. Again, small sample size, but that’s a small positive to take out of his game.
The reassignment should be taken in stride for Benson. After all, @Kailer Yamamoto has two stints of nine, and 17 games before he was recalled this season where he appears to be ready to stay.
Benson will return to the Condors where he’s already tallied 9-26—35 in 42 games played as Bakersfield looks to make a playoff push.
