“The expectation is the same as always. We’ve got a great belief in here. Playoff hockey is unique. It’s a skill to win in the playoffs, and we feel pretty good about having that skill, having been there and having won a lot of playoff games.

“That said, it’s exciting. It’s exciting for everybody, and we have to be ready to roll.”

“I feel good, for sure. My confidence has been high over the last few games, and I’ve just continued to put myself in good spots and contribute.

“It’s special to do it in a big game where we knew we needed to win to clinch home ice and treated it like a playoff game, so it was definitely special for me.”

“They’re a really good team. They battled at the top of our division all year. Obviously, it’s no easy feat to get into the playoffs in this league, and they’re a skilled group.

“It’s going to be a good test right off the jump.”

“We have so many young guys. Their maturity and learning how to play the right way takes time. I thought they did a much better job toward the end of the year.

“Everyone needs to have the right mindset coming to the rink every day. You can’t be satisfied. You’ve got to find ways to be better, work harder, and play as a team.”

“Of course, it’s disappointing where we are. Looking at the standings, that’s not acceptable.

“But I want to believe the future is bright. We’ve got pieces to build on, and I trust the coaching staff and management are making the right decisions. We’re going to be more competitive going forward.”
