Edmonton Oilers defenceman Tyson Barrie is expected to hit the NHL&#8217;s free agent market this summer.

According to TSN&#8217;s Darren Dreger, Barrie is reportedly seeking a five-to-six year contract as he looks for long-term stability in an organization.

Barrie took a pay cut when he inked a one-year, $3.75-million contract this last offseason to join the Edmonton Oilers. This year, he&#8217;s scored eight goals with his 48 points leading all defencemen in that category.
The Oilers are the third NHL team the 29-year-old defenceman has played on. He spent eight years with the Colorado Avalanche, before having a tough 2019-20 campaign with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Also mentioned in Insider Trading was Frank Seravalli reporting the Oilers have had good talks with Adam Larsson about a contract that appears to be in the three-to-four year range. On top of that, Seravalli said there is no new updates on Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.
