Connor McDavid’s influence off the ice continues to rise for himself and the Edmonton Oilers.
In a recent study by Betway Insider, the hunt for a McDavid jersey dominates Google searches compared to other NHL players. Average Google searches in last 12 months for McDavid’s jersey have equalled 19,200 with the next highest average search being Auston Matthews at 10,560.
Betway’s study also looked at positive sentiment scores with Mitch Marner of the Toronto Maple Leafs having the highest score at 40.8 percent among the top 10 players search.
It’s no surprise Connor McDavid’s name dominates Google searches and how sought after his jersey is. The superstar set another career high in points over the last season with 153 points and potting 64 goals. Nearly every week you’d see a highlight reel goal going viral on social media from McDavid. Non-hockey fans from across the pond in the U.K. have now started to produce first time reaction videos like this one on YouTube to the magical moments number 97 creates on the ice.
Next season McDavid will be on the chase for his fourth Hart Trophy. Among the 10 players Betway looked at in the study, multiple appear on Betway’s Hart Trophy Odds. Connor McDavid tops the list with +100 odds. Behind him are Auston Matthews with +1200, Nathan MacKinnon with +900 and David Pastrnak with +1200.
