It appears the Edmonton Oilers will be without Jesse Puljujarvi for some time.
The Finnish forward was injured at some point during the Oilers’ 7-3 comeback victory over the Anaheim Ducks Thursday night. He scored during the second period of the game making it a 3-2 game, but only took one, 20-second shift after his goal.
According to OilersNation’s Jason Gregor, it appears Puljujarvi will be out three-to-four weeks.
Puljujarvi’s in the midst of his best NHL season scoring 12 goals and 28 points. He re-joined Connor McDavid on the Oilers’ top line when Jay Woodcroft arrived a week ago and has scored two goals and three points in the four games since.
The Oilers will likely need to recall a forward from the Bakersfield Condors if Puljujarvi misses an extended period. Cooper Marody may just be the right man for the job.
He’s very familiar with Jay Woodcroft having played under him the last four years. This season, however, the 25-year-old forward is up to 14 goals and 35 points in 32 games.
