Edmonton Oilers forward Kyle Turris has cleared waivers Monday afternoon.

The Oilers had waived the veteran forward on Sunday for the third time this season.

Turris joined the Edmonton Oilers ahead of the 2020-21 campaign signing a two-year deal and things… well, they haven’t gone swell. Turris has struggled to get any sense of a foothold with the OIlers.

He’s appeared in 50 games in Edmonton since joining the club scoring three goals and nine points. He’s appeared in just 23 games this season notching a goal and four points.

As a whole, this isn’t a major move by any means. Turris, who carries a $1.65-million cap hit, remains on the LTIR and has been dealing with an on-again, off-again back injury this season.

Turris’ last game with the Oilers came March 5th against Montreal when he played just 4:41 of ice-time. It was his first game in almost two months.

Drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes 3rd overall in 2007, Turris was a strong player for 10 years, but the now 32-year-old’s game dropped off after joining the Nashville Predators in 2017.
