Edmonton Oilers general manager Ken Holland finished fourth in general manager of the year voting.

The vet received three first-place votes for the award which was won by Colorado Avalanche GM Ken Holland. The annual award is voted on by NHL GMs as well as a panel of NHL executives and media members and is voted on at the conclusion of the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Holland helped steer the Oilers into their first Western Conference Final since 2006. Edmonton beat the LA Kings in the first round of the playoffs in seven games before dominating the Calgary Flames in round two finishing the series in five games.

A number of moves this past season have helped pave the way for the Oilers. Signings like Zach Hyman and Cody Ceci, as well as the addition of Evander Kane mid-way through the year were big for them. Acquiring Brett Kulak at the deadline, too, was a key player for them in the playoffs.
