The Edmonton Oilers have placed forward Devin Shore on waivers for purpose of assignment to the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors.
Shore, 28, joined the Oilers ahead of the 2020-21 season on a two-year, $850,000 deal. He appeared in 38 games throughout the year scoring five goals and nine points. He also drew in for two playoff games notching one assist.
Brad Malone, who was waived Saturday, cleared.
With the Oilers in a cap crunch, this move helps push the team one step closer to the final roster being set.
According to PuckPedia, Brad Malone will be on the Oilers’ opening-day roster and the team is expected to be $7,116,835 over the cap. It puts the Oilers $165 away from the max potential LTIR space.
This accounts for Oscar Klefbom, Mike Smith and Tyler Benson all being placed on the LTIR.
