Ethan Bear has a new friend joining him on the injured reserve as the Edmonton Oilers announced Monday morning Gaetan Haas will be placed there.
Haas contracted COVID-19 and was kept out of the Oilers lineup earlier this season until he was eligible to play on Jan. 31 against the Ottawa Senators. His only other game came two days later, against the Senators again, where he played 16:27 and was on the ice for the last shift of the game.
Ennis, meanwhile, has played in five games for the Oilers this season scoring one assist.
It’s unknown what is keeping Haas out of the lineup and onto the injured reserve. After Saturday’s game against the Calgary Flames, head coach Dave Tippett said Haas was day-to-day and unfit to play.
