It’s a quiet week in the Oilers prospect world.
Matvey Petrov, Tyler Tullio, and Carter Savoie had zero points between the three, which hasn’t happened all year.
And no other prospect outside of Bakersfield scored more than two points.
However, there was a significant return to the ice for arguably the Oilers best prospect, so let’s talk about him today.

Dylan Holloway Returns

The long-awaited return of Dylan Holloway occurred this past week after recovering from wrist surgery and COVID-19.
The Oilers 2020 first-round pick didn’t disappoint either with three assists in his first three games with the Bakersfield Condors. Not a bad start to his pro career, hey?
He looked very comfortable despite being off the ice for so long. Now, the question is, when should fans expect to see him in an Edmonton Oilers jersey? My answer to that is I have no idea.
Suppose he continues at this pace, probably not that long. However, the longer he stays in Bakersfield, the better for him. You don’t want to rush him, then he gets here and can’t contribute. We’ve seen that too many times in the past.
Now, like it or not, Evander Kane is an Edmonton Oiler which gives more time for Holloway to stay in the AHL and find his game.

Bakersfield jumps into the win column

.With the injection of Holloway into their lineup, the Bakersfield Condors went 2-1-0 over the past seven days.
Their first win of the week came against the San Jose Barracuda. After a scoreless first period, the Barracuda jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second period. James Hamblin responded for the Condors with his ninth of the year, which led to three unanswered goals from the Bakersfield offence. Devin Brosseau, Vincent Desharnais and Adam Cracknell got the goals to help them overcome the early deficit. John Leonard scored late in the third for San Jose to make it a 4-3 final.
San Jose got their revenge the next night, taking down the Condors 5-2. Tim Schaller and Raphael Lavoie got the only goals for Bakersfield.
In their most recent game, Bakersfield returned to winning ways. Brosseau was active on the scoresheet again with two goals against the Tucson Roadrunners. Seth Griffith, Dino Kambeitz, and Markus Niemelainen scored as the Condors won 6-2.
Bakersfield now sits in 4th in the Pacific Division with a 15-9-6 record.
