Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has achieved another major milestone.
The longest-tenured Edmonton Oiler notched his 800th NHL point on Tuesday night during the first period against the Utah Mammoth. He recorded the second assist on Jack Roslovic’s 1-1 tying goal at 14:27.
The 32-year-old is having another productive offensive season, with 18 goals and 52 points in 2025-26. He’s operating with the second-highest shooting percentage of his career at 16.7 per cent.
Over the course of his 1021 games, he’s scored 289 goals, 511 assists, for a total of 800 points. This is the ninth career season in which Nuge has achieved 50-plus points.
He scored the 1-0 powerplay goal against the San Jose Sharks last Tuesday, for his 10th goal on the man advantage this season.
Earlier this season, Nugent-Hopkins played in his 1000th game, becoming the first Edmonton Oiler to play his first 1000 games all with the franchise. He sits 19 games behind Kevin Lowe for the franchise record for most games played.
Nugent-Hopkins is also seventh in Oilers franchise history in points, sitting 107 points behind Glenn Anderson for sixth. If Nuge continues his goal-scoring touch down the stretch, he could surpass Ryan Smyth for seventh most in franchise history. He is seven tallies behind Smyth.
Wayne Gretzky (1,669), Connor McDavid (1,197), Leon Draisaitl (1,053), Jari Kurri (1,043), Mark Messier (1,034) and Glenn Anderson (906) are the six in franchise history with 800-plus points.
He is taking on a larger role as the Oilers are missing multiple centres from their lineup, including second-leading scorer Leon Draisaitl, for the remainder of the season.
Teammate Connor McDavid is also nearing major milestones. McDavid is one goals away from 400 in his career, and two points back of 1200. Not only that, but he needs just one more assist for 800 total.
He is 54th all-time in NHL history in points.
