Favourite Oiler March Madness – Final Four

Here we are! After weeks of voting and difficult decisions, we’ve crowned a winner in each region and now we’re finally at the Final Four. It’s come down to Wayne Gretzky, Ryan Smyth, Doug Weight, and Connor McDavid.

In the 80s Region, Wayne Gretzky handily took down Mark Messier in a clash of Hall of Famers who captained the team through their best period in franchise history. In the 90s Region, we saw our tightest battle as Doug Weight narrowly edged out Curtis Joseph. In the 2000s Region, Ryan Smyth beat out Ales Hemsky, while in the 2010s Region, Connor McDavid took down teammate Leon Draisaitl.
So the stage is now set with four No. 1 seeds still intact. It’ll be Wayne Gretzky, the G.O.A.T., going up against Ryan Smyth, the heart and soul. On the other side, it’ll be Connor McDavid, the saviour, going up against Doug Weight.
What say you, Nation? How do you see this shaking out? Surely McDavid will end up in the Championship, but what happens between Gretzky and Smyth? Remember to pay attention to our Twitter and Instagram polls to vote to determine ON’s favourite Oiler of all time!
